The club needs someone or some people to coordinate a couple of activities.
In September we are planning to focus on member recruiting. Send your ideas to President Bob. Bring a prospective member to breakfast.
Charter night/Christmas party is set for 27 November at The Headquarters. David Asp is organizing but could use some assistance. Let him know if you are able to help.
Last Week's Speaker
We got to know Paul Humphrys a bit better. Paul was born in Sarnia Ontario. His father worked in the oil field so the family moved a few times. Paul has lived in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta. Paul graduated as a Mechanical Engineer and also has a Masters of Engineering in Oil Field Technology. With that background he worked for Suncor a bunch of years in Fort Mac. He is married to Christine who he courageously (foolishly?) calls the Nag. Ask him about it. Of his 4 children 2 of them followed in his footsteps to become Mechanical Engineers. They live in the Calgary area. His past times include travelling the world, fly fishing, lecturing part time at the U of A, and oh, did I mention fly fishing. Paul is also a member of Toastmasters where he met Adesola our Membership Director. She suggested he try us out. Now we welcome him as our newest member.
