Announcements
At a recent meeting the executive decided to repeat the program of last year where the club will match points with dollars for all member Foundation donations for the 2019-2020 Rotary year. Without getting into the complexities, it does not cost the club any actual money. Instead it will be credits that the club has amassed over many years. All you have to do is make a donation of at least $100 (equivalent US) to the Foundation and the club will match it. You can make a 1 time donation or monthly. The club will match anything between $100 to $500 US for the year. See Tom Fletcher or click the button below.
Charter night/Christmas party is set for 27 November at The Headquarters. David Asp will send out a survey to find out what you want to do. Please respond so that we can tailor this for your pleasure.
Kyle Chase in the centre of the photo is the General Manager for the Sherwood Park Crusaders. He told us that the team was formed in 1978 in Edmonton and moved here the following year. They are ranked 2nd in a field of over 700 teams. As a result they attract the best of players and feed university and college teams across Canada and the US. They expect their players to be upstanding citizen in the community and are always looking for ways for them to participate in community activities. Several members thought this might be an opportunity for the club to get help at events we might have. The only shortcoming that Kyle spoke about is the arena. It is not suitable for higher level tournaments that occur sometimes in the Canada. The team is looking to another good season and encourages the community to come out and see a high level of competitive sport.
