Our very own Charlie Teeuwsen entertained us with his life.
Charlie was born and raised right here in Sherwood Park. Other than a few years in Grand Prairie for work he has lived here most of the time since. Charlie did his first year of university at RMC with the military then finished off his Mechanical Engineering degree at U of A. He worked for a gas company his entire career retiring after 36 years. He held progressively more responsible positions finishing as a district manager.
Charlie is married to Yvonne and they have 4 sons. The sons and their children all live in the area. They gather every Sunday at Charlie and Yvonne's place for a loud family dinner.
One of Charlie's hobbies is aerobatic flying. He has competed with his own plane and has become an international judge. He and Yvonne are avid bikers. They take long trips though the mountains and into the US.
Charlie's Rotary career started in 1993. He left for a few years when career and family consumed all his time then rejoining here in Sherwood Park. He is a Past President, multiple Paul Harris Fellow and served as Treasurer for 12 or 13 years.
