We had 2 guests show up at our breakfast on Oct 11. One was a past member and another Rotarian from Edmonton who just moved into the area. Doug Sedore also returned from his mission to South Africa. He is scheduled to talk to us about it in a month.

Rod and Steve are busy organizing the Wine Survivor night. See the date in the Upcoming Events column to the right. It sounds like it will be a fun evening with the winner taking home enough wine to fill their cellar in time for Christmas. If you can't come you may still contribute and be part of the draw. Click on the link to learn more.
Charter night/Christmas party is set for 27 November at The Headquarters. David Asp will send out a survey to find out what you want to do. Please respond so that we can tailor this for your pleasure.
Tracey Vavrek our District Governor for the 2019-2020 year chatted with us this morning. She was accompanied by her husband (another Rotarian of long standing) Vince Vavrek. She arrived in her colourful car nick-named Amelia Kindheart (see above along with the colourful President Bob). The car has 22,000 km on it so far from visiting clubs in the district. She heads to the Yukon next week to visit more clubs. Tracey congratulated the club on its activities and offered help in any challenges we might encounter. She outlined how Rotary International is evolving to eliminate barriers to clubs. The old "formal" rules of classification, attendance, meeting frequency, etc. are coming down to allow clubs to grow meeting the needs of their communities and allow for enthusiastic membership development.
