The club needs someone or some people to coordinate a couple of activities.
In September we are planning to focus on member recruiting. Send your ideas to President Bob. Bring a prospective member to breakfast.
The Boys & Girls Club is planning to hold a golf tournament on September 7 at Broadmoor. They have guaranteed a good weather day and are asking us for any Rotarians who might want to help support a good cause. To get more info or register contact Kimberley Banford kbanford@refresheventmanagement.ca
November is the anniversary of our Charter. We hope to combine this important event with a club Christmas party.
Last Week's Speaker
Our very own Steven Lee told us about himself. Steven is a semi-retired IT professional who has worked for a number of companies in a couple of provinces before landing here in Alberta. Some of the companies you and I recognize are M&M's Meat Shop and Booster Juice. Alas, no free samples. Steven, his wife and 3 kids have lived "in the Park" for about 12 years. Steven will be a good catch for the club. His IT credentials will come in handy no doubt and more importantly - he owns a real live hot dog stand. We have to come up with a fund raiser for that!
Paul Harris Fellowship
Dou Sedore received his Paul Harris pin and certificate from Tom Fletcher. Because of Doug and others who contribute to The Foundation, the world is a better place. Funds every year go to maternal and childrens' health, clean drinking water, and world peace initiatives, plus others.
This Week's Speaker
Paul Humphreys is polishing up his classification talk for September 6.
