Youth Leadership Programs
Interact is a service club for youth ages 12 to 18 who want to connect with other young people and have fun while serving their communities and learning about the world.  Clubs, which meet at least twice a month, are sponsored by local Rotary clubs.  Interact clubs organize two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding.  Members of sponsor Rotary clubs mentor Interactors as they carry out the projects and develop leadership skills.

Starting in 2018, the Rotary Club of Sherwood Park will sponsor one Community Interact Club drawing on students from local high schools.  The club will be led by students who fill president, vice president, secretary and treasurer positions.

Each month, Rotary mentors will facilitate two online meetings to provide support to Interactors as they plan their projects.  Interactors will also be encouraged to meet in-person to develop relationships and host community fundraising events.

If you're interested in joining, please contact Erin Stephen.  Please note that all Rotary mentors must comply with youth protection and data policies.

Each October, Interact Leaders are encouraged to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.  A day for learning, growth and leadership at the University of Alberta.

Early each May, our club sponsors one or two local high school students to attend a four day Rotary Youth Experience Conference at Camp Nakamun, located one hour north of Edmonton.  High school teachers or interact clubs nominate individuals who show strong potential for growth in leadership.  Attendees develop leadership skills through sessions focused on intrapersonal growth, communication, community building and global citizenship.

The Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment is a 5-day camp held at Jasper over the May long weekend.  It is a camp geared towards high school youth who want to build self-confidence, self-esteem and other personal skills but have limited opportunities to attend other development programs.  Our club sponsors one or two local youth to attend each year.
